The U.S. is experiencing its worst drug shortage in 10 years, particularly for cancer drugs, due to plant closures, manufacturing issues and plant closures.
In TV ads, the pharmaceutical industry claims congressional plans to allow the federal government to negotiate drug prices in Medicare would deny beneficiaries' access to medicines their doctors prescribe. Experts say that's unlikely, and an inaccurate portrayal of recent legislation.

For the first time, Delaware is offering some second-dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments to people who received their first dose through another provider.
The state made available at least 2,000 appointments at its Dover International Speedway vaccination event on Thursday and Friday for people who received their first dose on or before Jan. 22 from a pharmacy, medical provider, clinic or other source in Delaware.
Registration for the appointments opened Tuesday at 11 a.m. at de.gov/fema. Those without internet access can call (833) 643-1715 to book an appointment.
“We’re really looking for those folks who have had a difficult time finding a place to get their second dose, the Division of Public Health s director, Dr. Karyl Rattay, said Monday at the Dover clinic.
