In yet another major development to the shocking multi-crore teachers’ recruitment scam, the Pune sessions court on Friday rejected the anticipatory bail applications of 27 accused, including
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) education officer Meenakshi Raut, and retired education director Ramchandra Jadhav.
The development took place after the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) submitted its report opposing the bail applications on the same day. This is just days after teachers’ union leader Sambhaji Shirsath was arrested by the EOW as a prime accused in the matter on January 16.

EOW) arrested the prime accused in the case, Sambhaji Shirsath, who is a teachers’ union leader. Along with Shirsath, the police have named several officials of the
education department in the
Samarth police station on Friday.
Pune Zilla Parishad official Rajendra Sathe has submitted the complaint with the Samarth police against Shirsath, secretary of Subodh Education Institute, and the government officials concerned who were responsible for releasing salaries based on bogus papers.
