Samaritan House Ministries’ safe and warm shelter will have its capacity increased from 13 beds to 25 once current renovations are complete. New funding from the province will allow the shelter to stay open and offer walk-in services until November, when federal funding kicks in. (Submitted)

As part of this year’s budget, the province announced it is giving Samaritan House $172,000 to fund operations at the shelter from April 1 to Oct. 30.
