The freshman left fielder hit a two-out, two-run single to left to give the No. 6 Ducks a four-run lead and they held on for a 4-2 win over Portland State Saturday afternoon at Jane Sanders Stadium. “I thought she did a great job,” Oregon coach Melyssa Lombardi said. “It was exciting to see her do that. I thought she had a good day.”

Brooke Yanez struck out 10 and worked around a late jam to lead the Ducks in a 3-1 win over the Bruins Sunday afternoon in Tempe, Arizona. Alyssa Brito and Shaye Bowden hit solo home runs and Rachel Cid had an RBI single for Oregon (8-0), which led 3-0 through six. Yanez held UCLA to just two hits through six, but the Bruins broke through with a string of four one-out hits in the seventh. Maya Brady doubled and Anna Vines drove her in to put UCLA on the board. Alyssa Garcia followed with a single and Kinsley Washington was hit by a pitch to load the bases, but Yanez got back-to-back strikeouts to end the threat and the game.
