Of all the recent Netflix success stories, few have been as unexpected as Cobra Kai – the Karate Kid spin-off that took the streaming platform by storm when it moved from its previous home on YouTube Premium last year.

Combing a genuine affection for the previous films with a fresh story and dynamic new characters, the show quickly became a word of mouth smash, and its third series returned to more rave reviews in early 2021.
The only problem is that the show has proven so addictive and enjoyable that fans are already desperate for more – and the good news is that we know there’s no end in sight for the show at this stage.
This shocking moment happened in the finale of season 2.

In the finale of season 2 of Cobra Kai, we watch Johnny throw his phone away in frustration following the school brawl that saw his star pupil Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) end up in the hospital at the hands of his son, Robby (Tanner Buchanan). As Johnny walks away there s a shot of his phone and it s revealed he received a Facebook friend request from Ali, Elisabeth Shue s beloved character in The Karate Kid who was responsible for launching the rivalry between Daniel and Johnny.
Fans of the show were excited, as it seemed certain Ali would be in season 3, but behind the scenes, the creators admit Shue hadn t agreed to be on the show yet.

Cobra Kai season three dropped on Netflix back at the beginning of January. The cult hit picked up after the season two cliffhanger, which saw the aftermath of the huge school fight. As well as martial arts, the series also featured some blossoming romance - but does this also transfer off-screen as well?
