The pentagon says initial air strikes against isis and an Al Qaedaaffiliated group caused significant damage and that the campaign could last for years. The u. S. And five arab allies joined by a common enemy carried out 168 strikes against targets in syria. The president said having a coalition is critical to the effort. The strength of this coalition makes it clear to the world that this is not americas fight alone. The United States and five arab allies took advantage of a dark, moonless night to expand attacks against the Sunni Terrorist Group into syria. President obama stressed this is just the beginning of a Long Campaign to destroy isis. The allied attacks overnight involved the u.
