To learn the history of the reconstructed 1719 building where general George Washington bid farewell to his officers following the revolutionary war. Fraunces tavern is at 54 pearl street, which is the corner of pearl and broad street in lower manhattan. It was built in 1719 with the delancey family. It was never lived in, it was built at a home, but it was a very mercantile area, lots of sailors coming in and out, lots of ships.
