Other notable business leaders and political figures across the globe will also at the summit join the private sector in setting agenda for Lagos State towards the next decade.
According to a statement issued by the Lagos State government, the summit is living-up to its reputation as Africa’s most practical and result-oriented private sector-led forum for socio-economic and infrastructural development, with the quality of speakers confirmed to mount the podium at the sessions

LASG, GIZ Nigeria partner on skills development, vocational training for youths

The Lagos State Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with GIZ Nigeria(Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) on skills development and sustainable economic growth.
The MoU was signed by the Lagos state commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr Sam Egube and Sabine Muller for GIZ.
GIZ Nigeria (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Federal Foreign Office and operates in the areas of sustainable economic development, technical vocational training, renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has welcomed the idea by the Federal Government and the Police Force to integrate the concept of community policing into the formal security architecture of the state.
The governor threw this support, on Tuesday, while speaking at the event organised by the Police Force and hosted by the state government to sensitise members of the public on community policing, saying the development would allow security agencies to efficiently nip crimes in the bud and swiftly respond to security breaches before blowing out of proportion.
The event, with the theme: “Understanding Community Policing: A Framework for Action,” was held at the Banquet Hall of the Governor’s Office and attended by Commissioners of Police in all the South-West states, religious groups, traditional institution, labour unions, civil society groups, and chairmen of the 57 local councils in Lagos.

Other speakers expected at the summit are Founder and Chair of Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Mo Ibrahim; Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola and Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, Mr. Ben Akabueze; and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative, Mohammed Yahaya.
