Tolaga Bay boy, Axle, was found around three-kilometres from his home and wanting his mum 5 May 2021
The three-year-old went missing with a neighbour s dog yesterday but was found about 20 hours later.
Axle s been examined by a nurse at Gisborne Hospital and it s thought he s in good shape.
Tairawhiti Area Commander Inspector Sam Aberahama says they re really pleased with the outcome.
He says there was a lot of joy in praise in Tolaga Bay, at the police station and in many other places.

Axle, 3, the boy who went missing from his home in Tolaga Bay yesterday, was found around 3km from his home and wanting his mum this afternoon, Tairāwhiti Area Commander Inspector Sam Aberahama said.
He said it was a very emotional moment for the family and those who volunteered when Axle was reunited with his family.
