What weve learned, as you reported, the man killed in last nights accident was this man. As you mentioned he just joined the chp force one year and four months ago. He was just 33 years old. He grew up in tracy. He leaves behind a wife and three young children. His partner, jonathan well as kwez the officers were parked on the shoulder of southbound 880 in hayward. They were looking for impaired drivers as part of chps maximum enforcement period and thats when they were hit behind by a driver who slammed into the back of their patrol car.
