The police in Ondo State say they have arrested no fewer than 20 suspects in connection with the crises that erupted in Ikare -Akoko and Owo townships.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that there were crises on Monday in Ikare-Akoko as a result of rivalry amongst some chiefs in the community, which claimed lives and property.
NAN also reports that members of the Odua Peoples Congress had a bloody clash with members of a secret cult, resulting in loss of lives and property.

Akeredolu threatens to embarrass ex-Deputy Governor over unreturned government vehicles

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has threatened to embarrass his former Deputy, Hon Agboola Ajayi if failed to return the four officials’ vehicles in his possession two months after leaving office.
Akeredolu also said he would press charges against Agboola and other former political appointees who failed to return government properties in their possession.
Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties and Strategy, Dr. Doyin Odebowale, he said it was reprehensible for Nigerians to condone the practice by elected officials or political appointees to take government properties away when leaving office.

The Ondo State governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, on Tuesday, petitioned the state Commissioner of Police, Salami Bolaji, over the refusal of the former deputy governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi, to return all the government vehicles in his possession.
Akeredolu in a letter written to the state Police Command and signed on his behalf by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties & Strategy, Dr Doyin Odebowale, asked the Police to prevail on the former deputy governor to return all the four vehicles in his possession.
According to the letter made available to Tribune Online, it was alleged that the former deputy governor, Ajayi, was still holding to the government vehicles despite haven left the office for almost two months.
