Corruption Watch launches tool that offers police transparency Updated Nomfundo Ngcobo Share this: Anti-corruption organisation Corruption Watch has launched an open data tool which improves transparency in policing in the country.  Steve Bhengu In response to the many whistle-blower complaints it has received on police corruption - the organisation says it was inspired by communities experiencing police violence and abuse.  Yesterday, Corruption Watch launched the Veza tool which provides information on the 1 150 police stations at national, provincial and district level.  The organisation s Kavisha Pillay says it features interactive maps of police corruption trends, hotspots and enables users to rate and review police stations based on personal experiences,  This is the first of its kind in South Africa with the aim to enforce accountability.

SANDF shipped unauthorised COVID-19 vaccines says SAHPRA Updated Nothando Mkhize Share this: The SA National Defence Force imported the Interferon Alfa 2b drug into the country four months before applying for permission.  This was heard in Parliament when the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority briefed the Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans yesterday.  The Cuban drug was procured by the SANDF in April last year, solely for their members who are employed to assist in managing COVID-19. The jabs- reported to cost about R260 million hadn t been approved for use in SA.  SAHPRA CEO, Boitumelo Semete says around the 27th of August, they received an application for the bulk stock of the drug.
