Tatanagar to step up Covid vigil from Tuesday Arriving passengers to undergo thermal screening, will be tested at station
Concerned over the rising cases of Covid-19 in various parts of the country, Tatanagar has made it manadatory for all arriving passengers to undergo a Covid test at the station from Tuesday.
The East Singhbhum district health department has decided to resume Covid-19 test ( (RT-PCR) at the Tatanagar railway station from tomorrow ( Tuesday).
Confirming this Tatanagar station director H K Balmuchu said that they have got a written communication in this regard from the district health department today. The East Singhbhum district health department will carry out the RT- PCR test while we will provide our staff for thermal screening of passengers. thermal screening will be carried out for both incoming and outgoing passengers, said Balmuchu talking
Jamshedpur: In an effort to ramp up the pace of Covid-19 vaccination drive, the East Singhbhum administration has allowed healthcare and front-line workers to walk into their nearest vaccination centre and take their jabs without waiting for their turns.
Dr Sahir Pal, the additional chief medical officer (ACMO) of East Singhbhum, said beneficiaries will have to show their ID proof at the vaccination centres and if their names are found in the database of the Co-WIN portal, they would be administered the vaccine. “The beneficiaries will not have to wait for their turns to get vaccinated,” Pal added.
Earlier, health and front-line workers were being asked to report at the vaccination sites via text messages through the Co-WIN portal. However, a low turnout forced health officials in the district to change the norms.

As many as 200 healthcare workers, including doctors, will be vaccinated in the steel city at MGM Medical College and Tata Main Hospital on Saturday, the first day of the immunisation programme being launched nationwide. We have already installed a two-way communication facility at MGM Medical College. In all, 100 health workers, mostly doctors, will be vaccinated at the medical college. Jamshedpur/Bokaro/Koderma: Within hours of arriving at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport, vials of the Covishield vaccine started reaching the districts on Wednesday, with East Singhbhum, Bokaro and Ranchi districts (which recorded the maximum number of Covid cases) being the first ones to receive the consignments.
In East Singbhum, which received 800 vials for its 8,000 health workers who registered themselves for the inoculation, the vaccines were stored at the cold chain point in Sakchi.
“Preparations have been completed for the transportation of the vials from the Sakchi store to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital, (MGMMCH), Tata Main Hospital, (TMH), sadar hospital, Pursudih, Urban Health Centre, (Birsanagar) and the community health centres in Baharagora, Ghatshila, Potka and Patamda,” additional chief medical officer Dr Sahir Pal said.
25 health workers join East Singhbum dry run Practice sessions held at Jamshedpur and Ghatshila hospitals
The East Singhbhum district health department carried out a dry run for Covid vaccinations at two health hubs on Saturday, days after a dozen-odd people staying a hotel here tested positive for the coronavirus.
In all, 50 health workers were involved in the dry run at Sadar Hospital at Khasmahal and at the Ghatshila sub-divisional hospital. The session, carried out in accordance with the Union health ministry guidelines, began at 9 am and continued till 12.30pm in the presence of district civil surgeon R.N. Jha and district chief medical officer Sahir Pal at the respective hospitals.
