A Las Vegas developer who entered an agreement to buy two acres of land on the Las Vegas Strip plans to add restaurants and retail shops at the location. This adds another project proposed for the resort corridor.

Brett Torino and executives at New York City-based Flag Luxury Group are buying two acres at CityCenter for about $80 million from MGM Resorts International, according to the
Las Vegas Review-Journal. The plan is to build a complex with retail and restaurants at the site.

It’s no surprise that there are so many bars in Las Vegas that many of them cater to very specific tastes places that match people’s moods and party vibes. Such is the case with The Tangier, the new whiskey bar at Sahara Las Vegas.
“The goal . is if someone lands here in Vegas and says, ‘Hey let’s go find a good whiskey bar?’ that we would pop up on Google,” says Nate Hedlund, director of beverage for Sahara Las Vegas. “This is where you come if you want whiskey The Tangier we’re all brown spirits.”

Shawn McClain will bring his fourth restaurant to the Las Vegas Strip later this year with
Ballo, a new Italian concept at Sahara Las Vegas. McClain will once again partner with
Richard and Sarah Camarota of MC Hospitality (who worked with the chef at the former Sage at Aria) to create a high-energy destination featuring seasonal Italian cuisine representing several different regions. Signature dishes will include handmade pastas, Roman pizzas, vegetable dishes and fire-roasted meats and fish. After debuting in Vegas with Sage, McClain also opened the former Five50 Pizza Bar at Aria and then created Libertine Social, which remains open at Mandalay Bay.

Candace Ochoa takes over the kitchen at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés, a member of the Eater 38 at the Sahara Las Vegas. The new executive chef will oversee all culinary operations for the restaurant. Ochoa has been with ThinkFoodGroup, the company behind chef José Andrés’ group of restaurants, for 10 years, and is the only executive chef to have worked at all of Andrés’ Bazaar locations.
Ochoa worked as executive sous chef for Bazaar Meat since 2018, and also assisted with the restaurant’s grand opening in 2014. She helped open The Bazaar by José Andrés at SLS Hotel in South Beach as sous chef, and served as a line cook at The Bazaar by José Andrés at SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. She assisted with the grand openings of Bazaar Mar by José Andrés at SLS Brickell in Miami Beach and Mercado Little Spain in Hudson Yards in New York City. Originally from Los Angeles, Ochoa earned her associate degree in culinary arts from The Art Institute of Califor
