But when the coronavirus pandemic hit last spring, maybe no industry was more impacted than seaside getaways. There were no vacationers doling out for rentals, there were no diners to sit at beachside restaurants and there was no one to ride rollercoasters or waterslides. Most of the businesses didn t open at all.

The Hamptons Arts Network, a consortium of 21 arts organizations on the South Fork, has brought an innovative touch to its fourth annual spring “Thaw Fest,” which instead of for just one weekend has this year been spread over the course of the next month, as the weather warms and we begin to venture back out into the world.
The festival goes into full swing this weekend, with both virtual and live events continuing through mid-April. The full schedule is online here.
The Hamptons Youth Quartet
Hamptons Doc Fest is presenting a virtual screening of a great film, “Acasă, My Home,” the story of a family of two adults and nine children that is moved from a life of harmony with nature in the Vasaresti Delta in Romania to a city apartment so that the land can be made into a park and the children can go to school.
