The Hamptons Arts Network, a consortium of 21 arts organizations on the South Fork, has brought an innovative touch to its fourth annual spring “Thaw Fest,” which instead of for just one weekend has this year been spread over the course of the next month, as the weather warms and we begin to venture back out into the world. The festival goes into full swing this weekend, with both virtual and live events continuing through mid-April. The full schedule is online here. The Hamptons Youth Quartet Hamptons Doc Fest is presenting a virtual screening of a great film, “Acasă, My Home,” the story of a family of two adults and nine children that is moved from a life of harmony with nature in the Vasaresti Delta in Romania to a city apartment so that the land can be made into a park and the children can go to school. The film is available to view online through Monday, March 15. Here are more details.

Set in Bucharest, Romania, “Acasa, My Home” (2020, 86 min.), directed by Radu Ciorniciuc, tells the story of a family of two adults and nine children that is moved from a life of harmony with nature, living an unconventional life in a humble dwelling in the wilds of the Vacaresti Delta, to a city apartment with the conveniences of a bathroom and washing machine, so that the land and its rare flora and fauna can be made into Vacaresti Nature Park, and the children can be enrolled in school. The move requires many adjustments for the family.
