Victim at Ariana Grande-Manchester concert bombing bled to death due to lack of lifesaving treatment: report Theresa Braine
The youngest victim of the 2017 bombing after an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, might very well have survived with better first aid, a new report says.
Her family had initially been told that Saffie Rose Roussos, 8, was killed instantly. Now it has emerged that the girl suffered potentially survivable injuries to her legs, but no one applied tourniquets.
An hour later, she had bled out, BBC News reported Sunday.
Saffie’s family hired their own team of experts to look into the circumstances surrounding her death, BBC News reported. They interviewed witnesses and scoured footage from CCTV and emergency-services’ body cameras to determine that if someone had just applied tourniquets and splints to stanch the bleeding, she may very well have lived.
