The Maine CDC reports 296 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. So far, 1,285,764 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
Governor Janet Mills will lift capacity restrictions for indoor and outdoor gatherings, effective May 24th, as well as physical distancing guidelines, except in indoor settings like restaurants and bars that require face coverings to be removed. The mask directive for indoor public spaces will remain in place. Mills says the large percentage of adults who have been vaccinated prompted the acceleration of the Moving Maine Forward plan.

A 20-year-old Brewer woman has filed a federal lawsuit, claiming she was sexually abused, between the ages of 13 and 15, by a man working as an athletic trainer at Brewer High School.
