The Maine CDC reports 296 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. So far, 1,285,764 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
Governor Janet Mills will lift capacity restrictions for indoor and outdoor gatherings, effective May 24th, as well as physical distancing guidelines, except in indoor settings like restaurants and bars that require face coverings to be removed. The mask directive for indoor public spaces will remain in place. Mills says the large percentage of adults who have been vaccinated prompted the acceleration of the Moving Maine Forward plan.

A 20-year-old Brewer woman has filed a federal lawsuit, claiming she was sexually abused, between the ages of 13 and 15, by a man working as an athletic trainer at Brewer High School. Bangor Police Seek New York Man for Union Street Murder
Bangor Police are asking for the public s help locating a New York man, wanted in connection with a murder at a Union Street home.
Khalid Harris, 28, of Bronx, New York is charged with murder for the death of 28-year-old Syies Adams of Brooklyn, New York. Bangor Police found Adams body at 1702 Union Street on the night of December 10th, after receiving a report of an injured, unresponsive male. An autopsy revealed that Adams death was a homicide.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Harris, whose now being sought by authorities. Police are asking that anyone with information contact their local law enforcement agency. Harris is considered dangerous, and should not be approached.

BANGOR, Maine The Bangor Police Department said in a release Thursday that a New York man is wanted in connection with the December 2020 murder of another New York man in Bangor.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Khalid Harris, 27, of Bronx, New York, charging him with murder, according to Bangor police.
Around 8:30 p.m. on December 10, 2020, Bangor police responded to 1702 Union Street after a 911 caller reported that an unconscious man was at the home. Upon arrival, officers located an injured, unresponsive man at the home and Bangor Fire Department paramedics determined that the man was dead.
