Cyclone Tauktae: INS Kochi arrives in Mumbai with rescuees from Barge P305 ANI | Updated: May 19, 2021 15:15 IST
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 19 (ANI): The Indian Navy Ship Kochi on Wednesday arrived in Mumbai along with the rescued personnel from Barge P305 which sank 35 nautical miles from Mumbai due to cyclonic storm Tauktae.
A total of 184 people have been rescued so far and as many as 14 dead bodies have been recovered from the Arabian Sea after Barge P305 sank off the Mumbai coast. The search and rescue operations are still going on. Had inputs that Barge P305 was in distress, approx 35-40 miles from Mumbai. The ship sailed under very difficult conditions, the storm was just passing west of Mumbai. As we arrived on the scene we took charge of the situation, Commanding Officer of INS Kochi Captain Sachin Sequeira said.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 19 (ANI): As many as 14 dead bodies have been recovered so far from the Arabian Sea after Barge P305 sank off the Mumbai coast due to Cyclone Tauktae, officials said on Wednesday.
184 people have also been rescued so far. The search and rescue operations are still underway. 184 people totally recovered, ops are still continuing by Naval ships and aircraft. We re still looking out for people in the area. We should be optimistic. Right now the conditions have improved. Hopefully, the worst is behind us, Capt Sachin Sequeira, Commanding Officer, INS Kochi said.
