KOTA KINABALU: More than 300 residents in Kampung Gana, Papar and another 200 in Kampung Kumawan, Tambunan can now enjoy better internet access with ‘CONNECTme NOW’, a community-based high-speed prepaid broadband service via satellite.
MEASAT Global Berhad (MEASAT) in a statement today said the initiative, in collaboration with the Sabah Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (KSTI), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) was in line with the continued commitment to power an inclusive future where everyone has access to the internet.

TAWAU: Micro entrepreneurs in Sabah affected by the Covid-19 pandemic can take advantage of a one-off financial assistance of RM1,000 each, provided by the State Government.
State Finance Assistant Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said the State Government’s initiative was aimed at reducing the burden of entrepreneurs facing financial flows.
“This allocation is channelled through the Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development,” he said when met after the Young Citizens’ Voice Programme, (Suwam), here.

At the same time, he hoped the youth associations in the State would seize the opportunity to seek assistance from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to carry out activities related to upgrading the group’s economy.

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Ministry of Works will work with the state Ministry of Rural Development to develop a database that serves as a detailed information channel on the development and construction of roads needed in all districts statewide.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who is also state Works Minister, said that a committee would be formed to complete the information in the database such as road development being carried out and construction not yet implemented.
“Through this (database), we will submit a budget to the federal government. This database will also make it easier for us to give priority to any roads (to be constructed first) and to apply for allocation.
Movement Control
Travelling within and between Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) areas and to Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) areas is ALLOWED.
Police permission is REQUIRED for travel into Enhanced Movement Control (EMCO) areas.
Number of passengers within private vehicles are subject to vehicle capacity. However, high-risk individuals and children are not encouraged to go out into public, open and crowded areas.
Number of passengers within commercial vehicles for transporting goods and services, as well as economic/industrial chain of activities is subject to the registration licence of the vehicle.
Movement of private vehicles, Government departments or private companies for the purpose of going to and from workplace or for official government business is dependent on the seating capacity of the vehicle.
