RESEARCH and Development (R&D) in Sabah Forestry Department is undertaken by the Forest Research Centre (FRC), based in Sepilok, some 23km from Sandakan town.
As pointed out by the Chief Conservator of Forests, Datuk Frederick Kugan, the centre generates knowledge and technology in support of sustainable forest management in Sabah.
