Terry said HUD recommends getting the people in such programs into their own homes within 90 days. She said Genesis Garden is striving to accomplish that within 60 days.
Genesis House, which is the emergency shelter at 307 East Carroll Street in downtown Macomb, recently re-opened after being closed for approximately a year due to the COVID-19 crisis, though it’s operating at reduced capacity because of the pandemic.
Terry said some clients are referred to Genesis Garden while others learn about the organization and its programs through the Genesis Garden website. In addition, Terry said she engages in what is called “street outreach.”

After 38 years of ownership under Gordon resident Diane Sandage, Sandage Feeds will make the transition to a new chapter.
As of March 1, the Feddersen family from Rushville has purchased the feed business from Sandage. A new name is coming soon, once all the legal hoops have been jumped through.
The Feddersen’s ranch near Rushville along with being partners in an AI Business with Judd Hoos. So cattle is not only a business to them, it’s a way of life.
“I had been buying feed from and working with Diane for a while. When she asked if I would want to take over, it made a lot of sense seeing how they all worked together,” said Court.
Gene Snyder
Woodallen Gene Snyder was born on May 22, 1944 in Gordon, Nebraska, the second of three children of Woodrow L. and Charlyn G. Watson Snyder. He died February 12, 2021 at the age of 76 years in the Cheyenne, Wyoming hospital. He grew up on a ranch south of Rushville, NE on Pine Creek. He attended elementary school grades 1-8 at District 98, known as the Mill School. Gene graduated from Rushville High School in 1962. He played football in high school and college. He attended Chadron State College for 3 years and then received his Doctor of Dentistry degree in 1969 from the University of Missouri Dental School in Kansas City, MO. He met the love of his life, Carol Sue Ward, while in dental school and they were married on August 19, 1967 in Burlington, KS. Three children were born to this union, Brian Gene, Kevin Dean and Angela Lynn.
