SPRINGVILLE The city council of Springville met for the first meeting of July on Tuesday, July 6, after moving the regularly scheduled meeting from Monday, July 5, due to the Independence Day holiday.
In the work session prior to the meeting, City Attorney James Hill presented a proposal to rebid garbage collection services within the city. After a series of previous companies being purchased, trash removal services are currently contracted with Waste Management, Inc.
“We need, and they want, us to rebid the contract,” said Hill. “There are things that need to be revised.”
Hill gave examples of other cities including franchise fee provisions in waste management service contracts to maintain and repair roads damaged by garbage trucks.

After 38 years of ownership under Gordon resident Diane Sandage, Sandage Feeds will make the transition to a new chapter.
As of March 1, the Feddersen family from Rushville has purchased the feed business from Sandage. A new name is coming soon, once all the legal hoops have been jumped through.
The Feddersen’s ranch near Rushville along with being partners in an AI Business with Judd Hoos. So cattle is not only a business to them, it’s a way of life.
“I had been buying feed from and working with Diane for a while. When she asked if I would want to take over, it made a lot of sense seeing how they all worked together,” said Court.

Cassandra Candini-Tilton will become Manteca’s new Legislative Services Director/City Clerk effective Feb. 1.
Candini-Tilton is currently serving as the Acting Legislative Services Director/City Clerk. She started her career with the City of Manteca in 2014 and transferred to the Office of the City Clerk in December of 2015. Candini-Tilton has most recently served as the Assistant Director of Legislative Services/Assistant City Clerk for over a year and a half.
A native of Manteca, Candini-Tilton “bleeds green” as a proud Manteca High School Buffalo graduate. Candini-Tilton will be receiving her California Professional Municipal Clerk Certificate, through the University of Riverside, resulting in her finishin
