Hero MotoCorp, India s largest two-wheeler maker, witnessed a 26% growth in its secondary network, primarily based in tier II and III cities and rural areas, during the 42-day festive period ending on November 15. The company reported an overall 20% YoY increase in sales, reaching a record 1.4 million units during the festive season.

Hero MotoCorp, India s largest two-wheeler maker, achieved its highest-ever festive season sales by selling over 14 lakh two-wheeler units in the 32-day period between the first day of Navratras and Bhai Dooj on November 15. The company recorded a 19% growth over the previous year, surpassing its previous highest retail of 12.7 lakh units in the festive period of 2019.
Telco customer numbers collated by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) also showed that Reliance Jio s mobile user gains were sharply higher than Bharti Airtel s in August, the latest month for which Trai data is available. Analysts said this indicated that the telecom market leader grabbed a bulk of state-run BSNL s churning customers and made gains in rural markets, helped by strong uptake of Jio Bharat.
FMCG major Dabur India is experiencing a "very good recovery" in rural markets and expects growth to match the urban market in the next 3-4 quarters. CEO Mohit Malhotra believes that the slow volume recovery is happening due to inflation and commodity price cooling, narrowing the difference between rural and urban growth rates.
