The Scottish Government has claimed key fishing stocks will reduce as part of the Brexit deal agreed between Boris Johnson and the EU FISHING stocks landed by the Scottish fleet will fall as part of the Brexit deal, analysis carried out by the Scottish Government has suggested. The Scottish Government research claimed that eight varieties of fish stocks will not have increased fishing opportunities under the agreement struck between Boris Johnson and the European Union. Scottish ministers have also warned that in five-and-a-half years’ time, when an agreed adjustment period to allow fleets to adapt to new rules expires, shares will remain less than the current situation.
Farmer groups formed to tackle green issues by Gemma Mackenzie

Two new working groups tasked with recommending ways farmers and crofters can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions have been announced by the Scottish Government.
The farmer-led groups – one for the dairy sector and the other for the hill, upland and crofting sectors – are in addition to previously announced groups for the arable, beef and pig sectors.
The dairy group will be chaired by Jackie McCreery who runs a mixed dairy and arable farm in East Lothian with her husband Simon and is also a director of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland and the Royal Highland Education Trust.
