More COVID-19 Cases in Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, PA)   Positive COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Health added over 8,500 new cases to its COVID-19 dashboard yesterday. The total number of cases in the state is now over 622,000 and there are currently more than 6,000 people hospitalized because of the coronavirus. Susquehanna Valley Restaurants Ordered to Close (Susquehanna Valley, PA)   The Department of Agriculture Bureau of Food Safety is ordering about 16 Susquehanna Valley restaurants to close for violating COVID-19 restrictions. Inspectors announced yesterday that they have closed down a total of 33 restaurants after completing almost 400 inspections last week and 16 of those were from the Susquehanna Valley. One restaurant was in Cumberland County, two were in Dauphin and Lebanon Counties, but the most closures came out of Lancaster County with eleven. Governor Wolf s in-door dining ban is supposed to end January 4th.

York organization to hosts virtual New Year s Eve event, downtown light show

Updated: 1:31 PM EST December 29, 2020 YORK, Pa. An in-person gathering to ring in the New Year may be impossible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Parliament Arts Organization announced it will host a virtual New Year s Eve celebration Thursday to help the York community welcome 2021. The virtual event will be streamed on Facebook, organizers say. It will include a recorded video made by five featured local musicians at various locations around the city of York. Featured bands are: BoomPop, Eli Weary, Ambitious Caban, Brandt Kingsley, and RalphReal and the Family Jam.  With the help of Shumaker PDT, the Parliament Arts Organization said it has teamed with Lancaster-based Shumaker PDT to create a light show on the Rupp Building on 2 W. Market St. The shows go on nightly from 7-9 pm at the top of every hour.
