Officers. This was overnight, down there. Youre looking at northbound 101 near tully road in san jose. This was as they were in the middle of a traffic stop alongside the road. They still have not found this person. It was around 11 30 last night. One of the officers was inside the patrol car, the other outside conducting the stop. They heard a loud noise, saw a flash, quickly realized they were being fired at at least one of the bullets struck the patrol car with the officer inside. Its still not clear where those shots came from. We dont know for certain that this was a targeted attack. We understand in Law Enforcement that there are some dangers that are inherent in the work we do. We also do realize the reality that some people do hold contempt for officers. And are out there to harm and do danger to officers. Were just fortunate in this situation that none of the officers were injured and that nobody else was injured as well.
