Two Victims Stabbed in Lake Forest; Suspect in Custody
LAKE FOREST A 25-year-old man was arrested Feb. 23 on suspicion of stabbing a man and woman in their Lake Forest home.
The victims a 69-year-old woman and 31-year-old man who appear to be a mother and son were rushed to an area hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, said Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Dennis Breckner.
Deputies who were called at 7:30 a.m. to Rue Fontaine and Rue Monet in the Foothill Ranch area set up a perimeter to catch the attacker, but the suspect initially eluded apprehension, Breckner said. A deputy on a motorcycle in Rancho Santa Margarita later spotted the suspect, Jose Zuniga Castro of Lake Forest, and took him into custody, the sergeant said.
