An all-star cast of comedians is slated to pay tribute to late comedian
Paul Mooney in an upcoming comedy show at the iconic Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California, TMZ reported.
The media outlet spoke to the owner of the venue, Jamie Masada, who laid out the event’s details. Masada said the tribute is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 27, at 3 p.m. PT, and will feature appearances from his twin sons Dwayne and Daryl, who are also comedians. Actors Eddie Murphy and Kevin Hart also were asked to join. Actress Tiffany Haddish was announced in the lineup, but won’t be able to make it due to a prior work engagement. TMZ, the comedian, writer and actor s family confirmed that he died from a heart attack on on Wednesday morning (May 19th) at his home in Oakland. Paramedics tried to revive him but they were unsuccessful.

Rudy Ealy. Martin said, “His cousin, Rudy Ealy, just called me from Paul’s phone and said he passed away two hours ago after suffering a heart attack at his home in Oakland. He was 79.”

Comedian Paul Mooney has died from a heart attack at his home in Oakland. He was 79 years old.
The story first broke when journalist Roland Martin tweeted the news from a relative of Mooney, whose real name is Paul Gladney.
“His cousin Rudy Ealy just called me from Paul’s phone and said he passed away two hours ago after suffering a heart attack at his home in Oakland. He was 79. We will pay tribute to him tonight on #RolandMartinUnfiltered,” Martin tweeted.
Martin deleted the tweet and clarified his intentions with a follow up tweet.
