A 25-year veteran of the force, Moran, 50, told the Bay Area Reporter February 22 that she thinks she s the first woman to lead the station, which was subsequently confirmed by Matt Dorsey, a gay man who is the communications director of the SFPD.
Mission Station is Moran s home away from home, she said. I was an officer at Mission Station for approximately 10 years, Moran said. I was a lieutenant for 21 months, moved to SVU for a year and a half and now I m back. As far as having a home in the department, Mission Station is home for me.
