night with the storm s power and fury already clear. blayne alexander, nbc news. all right. let s bring in dylan dreyer for more. it s going to be a long night in these parts. rtai y is, lester. we have that tornado outbreak occurring right now with several tornado warnings in effect across eastern nebraska, and we have those severe thunderstorm warnings that extend to the south. look at all these red boxes. several of those tornadoes are being reported right now, and that is going to be the case through the night, which is especially dangerous after dark, and this is the area where not only will we see the chance of tornadoes but hail up to 2 inches or more in diameter, straight-line wind gusts and heavy rain. down in texas all weekend long is where we could see up to 6 to 10 inches of additional rain and that is going to be the biggest threat as we go through the weekend. that ground just can t absorb a lot of rain so flash flooding a possibility. dylan dreyer, thank you. the s
