Davenport, IA- A federal Jury has found a Davenport man guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of Tampering with a witness. 32-year-old Roylee Richardson Jr. of Davenport was found guilty Wednesday, August 31st. According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, in February 2021, officers from the Davenport Police Department were dispatched to an apartment complex at 3348 Heatherton Drive, in Davenport, related to shots fired. Through an investigation, Richardson was identified as the shooter and was subsequently located attempting to scale off of a second-story balcony. Officers searched the apartment that Richardson fled and found a firearm used in the shooting. After being arrested, Richardson repeatedly called the victim, in violation of a no-contact order, and in an attempt to tamper with the witness.

The incident occurred at 11:01 a.m. at an apartment building at 3348 Heatherton Drive.
Roylee Richardson Jr., of Davenport, is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony under Iowa law that carries a prison sentence of 10 years.
Richardson also is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, a Class D felony that carries a prison sentence of five years.
He also is charged with assault causing bodily injury and possession of a controlled substance-crack cocaine-first offense. Both of those charges are serious misdemeanors that carry a jail sentence of up to one year.
