The February numbers for the real estate market in northeast Saskatchewan look phenomenal.
Compared with February of 2020, sales were up 433.3 per-cent throughout the region, with 32 sales in 2021 compared to six in 2020. The numbers aren’t just much higher than the year prior, but it’s up almost 117 per-cent compared to the five-year average.
Joline Ozeroff is the associate broker at Royal Lepage Hodgins Realty and said credit for the uptick in sales can be given to some recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the low interest rates.
She added that product is moving fast as well.
“New listings are up 43 per-cent,” Ozeroff told
It was a very positive month of January for the real estate market in northeast Saskatchewan.

Comparing numbers month to month in January from 2020 to 2021, dollar volume sales are up 130 per cent. However, looking at year to date, dollar volume sales went down about 4.5 per cent, but most of that can be credited to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Ozeroff told
northeastNOW while the pandemic struck the market at the beginning, it only had a small affect for a few months.
“In fact, if anything, it drove up the demand,” she said. “Which, coming into 2021, has started to drive up the demand.”
Kinsmen and Kinette groups in Saskatchewan are in full fundraising mode ahead of Telemiracle 45.
With the restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been a difficult year to raise funds for clubs as well as the telethon.
Melfort Kinettes Treasurer Nancy Hamilton said the group has a pancake breakfast coming up this Sunday with the help of RJ’s Urban Garden.
“It is a curbside pick-up for being COVID-19 friendly and we are working on some other little projects for Telemiracle too,” Hamilton said.

Royal LePage Hodgins Realty got into the giving spirit leading up to Christmas.
The Real Estate company in Melfort provided over $4000 to charities and organizations in the area in their 12 days of Christmas giveaway.
Agent and partner Joline Ozeroff said they were also able to do some random acts of kindness for the RCMP, paramedics, and fire department.
“Coming to the end of the year, we were happy with the success we had and we wanted to share that with as many organizations as we could,” Ozeroff said. “We wanted to say thank you to different people and especially those who put themselves at risk through all of this.”
