Yes, the artistic director, Leslie Charipar , tells me that tcr did contact at least one organization that advocates on behalf of the Deaf Community when casting. But admits it could have done more. Charipar addressed peoples concerns on a post on tcrs website. She says no deaf actors showed up to auditions and tcr was just following policy when it comes to selecting actors. Roles and do not get paid. Were entereing the building. What weve learned from both pd and School Administrators is the shooting appeared to tak epalce outside the fine artsm building on the jeff campus. Students who left said there was some initial confusion inside. Eventually, most learned it was a Suicide Attempt outside the school. One student told us she was off campus when it happened. And when she cam lockdown in effect. I was in shock. Nothing like this has happened since ive been here. Shooting something. School officials gave both parents and students a choice.
