Copeland Borough Council acknowledges missed waste collections

COPELAND Borough Council has been unable to complete rubbish collections in a number of areas. The council has not said why refuse and recycling was not collected - but its website lists the likes of roadworks and access issues as possible reasons. Recyling collections were not completed in parts of Beckermet, Egremont, and St Bees as well as a number of smaller villages including Winder, Skelsecugh, Arlecdon, Rowrah, Kirkland, Asby, Lamplugh, and Cross Gates. Meanwhile refuse collections were not completed in Kells, Millom, and Seascale. The council said it aimed to return for the collections it had missed as soon as possible.

Chloe Grant, 15, saw-off competition from 25 rivals at the Stafford Driving Centre earlier this week to earn the Junior Saloon Car Championship (JSCC) team package. The Perth High School pupil’s scholarship has won her the chance to race a saloon car at venues such as Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Silverstone this season.
