The housebuilder has acquired development land on the northern fringes of Lytham St. Annes in Lancashire from Kensington Developments for an undisclosed sum.
The 60-acre plot has been allocated for residential development in the Fylde Local Plan. Kensington initially obtained planning permission for up to 1,150 homes plus a nature park in 2012 – a scheme it named Richmond Point.
Following further planning consents, Kensington began construction on the coastal site off Queensway in 2016 and has completed the first and second phases totalling 89 units.
The remaining residential phases require the development of currently vacant land and substantial infrastructure works are needed to facilitate their delivery. Kensington subsequently marketed the scheme for sale to a developer keen to take on the works.
