Vaccinated teachers and students don t need to wear masks inside school buildings, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday in relaxing its COVID-19 guidelines. The changes come amid a national vaccination campaign in which children as young as 12 are eligible to get shots, as well as a general decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths.

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - Restrictions have now been lifted for graduation ceremonies at all Rowan-Salisbury Schools. Graduating seniors will be able to bring as many family members as they like, and masks will not be required.
Last year many graduation ceremonies were drive thru like the one at Charlotte Motor Speedway for Cabarrus County Schools. This week, Rowan-Salisbury Schools made the decision to lift restrictions for outdoor graduations in the football stadium of each high school. The Rowan County Early College and Henderson Independent High School graduations will be held on alternate dates.

A group of community members does not want to have drive-thru graduations this year, and they took time Monday night to let the Cabarrus County Board of Education know.
This year, Cabarrus County Schools has all its graduations scheduled for June 11 and 12. They are all scheduled to be at Charlotte Motor Speedway, though it is unclear if parents will be able to attend. All that has been posted on the districtâs website are the dates and times of the scheduled events.
Several people spoke during Mondayâs public comments section of the school board meeting about why they donât want to hold their graduations at the Speedway.
