COVID-19 Cases Show No Signs Of Slowing Down
(Raleigh, NC) New COVID-19 cases are reaching staggering numbers in North Carolina. The rolling average of cases over the last week is close to six-thousand per day. State public health officials reported over 68-hundred new cases yesterday, which is only second to the single-day high of 75-hundred set on Friday. (Raleigh, NC) The race for Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court is over. Democrat incumbent Cheri Beasley conceded to Republican Paul Newby on Saturday after the conclusion of a hand recount in the race. The difference was around only 400 votes. Newby is the longest running justice serving on the state s high court.
Jill Clayton s body found in Rowan County

MOREHEAD, Ky. (LEX 18) â The body of Jill Clayton, who has been missing for over two weeks now, was found Friday evening in Morehead.
Detective Donny Hall with the Rowan County Sheriff s Office confirmed the news to LEX 18.
An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday to find a cause of death. As of Friday evening, no charges been filed.
Clayton s body was found at an area near Wolf Hollow Road after approximately 40 community members gathered on Friday to help on the search.

The search is continuing for a missing Rowan Co woman. Jill Clayton was last heard from Thanksgiving morning when neighbors overheard her arguing loudly with her boyfriend, Gary Jeffries. The Rowan Co Sheriff’s Office is continuing to deploy search parties in the area of CCC Trail near Clayton’s home. Another search party is planned for tomorrow morning.
