UIDAI conducts workshop on simplifying Aadhaar usage

Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): As part of effort to promote Aadhaar usage by states, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Regional Office Guwahati, organised a state-level workshop on ‘Recent initiatives for simplifying Aadhaar usage’ at Administrative Training Institute, Kohima, on Monday. According to a DIPR report, Nagaland Chief Secretary, J Alam, the special guest of the workshop in his address said Aadhaar is very essential to avail various social welfare schemes and urged the residents to get registered for Aadhaar to receive benefits under direct benefit transfer. The chief secretary also mentioned that special effort shall be undertaken to cover the left out population. Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday said the deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) hold the prime posts in serving the country and are the “face of the state government.”  Being the administrative heads in the districts, the chief minister said the DCs should be more effective in maintaining law and order situations, exercising government policies, implementing the development activities effectively, and making them visible in the eyes of the public, stated a DIPR report.
