Thefts from cars
WILLMAR There were five reports of items either stolen from cars or cars being gone through Thursday morning in Willmar, according to police reports about the incidents.

Authorities on the Iron Range say a 5-year-old boy has died after falling falling into a mine pit.
The incident at the Rouchleau Pit in Virginia was reported at 4:09 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The Virginia Police Department responded to the report of someone falling over the side of the mine pit, located near 3rd Street North and 1st Avenue North.
Law enforcement were able to locate the child s body. The boy fell approximately 70 feet.
The Rouchleau Mine Pit, which is filled with water, is on the eastern edge of Virginia and reaches a depth of 450 feet. A bridge carrying U.S. Highway 53 over the pit is the tallest in Minnesota.
VIRGINIA â A 5-year-old has died after a nearly 70-foot fall into the Rouchleau Mine Pit outside Virginia on Wednesday.
According to the Virginia Police Department, water emergency crews were called to the scene around 4:09 p.m. for two people in the mine pit. Initial reports said a juvenile fell over the side of the pit near 3rd Street North and 1st Avenue North in Virginia.
No updates were issued on the second person reported to have fallen. Identification of the boy is being withheld pending family notification.
Virginia Police Chief Nicole Mattson said the incident is under investigation and appears to be an accident. She said further details will be released upon completion of the investigation.
