Rosina Foods
The state Department of Environmental Conservation said Rosina Foods has completed brownfield clean-up at its Clinton Street location in West Seneca. This paves the way for construction of a new $58-million-dollar food manufacturing plant on the 10-acre site.
The DEC said, from the early 1900s to the 1960s, the site at 3100 Clinton St. was used as railroad yards. The clean-up included nearly 46,000 tons of soil that was grossly contaminated.
Rosina s new 105,000 square-foot plant will be adjacent to the company s other West Seneca facility, which produces pastas and entrees.
In a filing with the Erie County Industrial Development Agency, Rosina said its new state-of-the-art plant will have the capacity to double its production of frozen meatballs and sausages, from 20 million to 40 million pounds annually.
