Career guidance in the 4IR has to be intentional
There is a fast-growing void and a stark mismatch between people’s current skills and the skills that will be needed for jobs during the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Governments, businesses, schools and universities around the world are simply not helping people to acquire the skills they need to succeed in this new environment.
The premise of my new book,
This marginality means that resources for career guidance have been paltry. There is no coordinated or strategic leadership. Career guidance occurs as a largely dispersed, devolved,
ad hoc set of activities with little funding and no comprehensive source of information.
