(Washington, DC) – On Monday, May 31, 2021, the District Government will observe Memorial Day. While some services will be affected, many District employees will continue serving to maintain essential District operations.

Access to Emergency Shelter
All low-barrier shelters will remain open on Monday, May 31. Families and individuals seeking access to homeless services should call the DC Shelter Hotline at (202) 399-7093 or 311 at any time of the day or night.
Volunteers joined D.C. leaders and went door-to-door near the Rosedale Recreation Center in Northeast to help encourage residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
In addition, the following walk-up sites are open to DC residents 12 years and up:

Starting May 14, appointments will be available Thursday through Sunday from 8 AM to not, and from 1 to 5 PM.

FDA preparing to approve Pfizer vaccine for children
The FDA is expected to give the ok for kids ages 12 to 15 to get the Pfizer vaccine within the next week or so. Once the CDC approves the recommendation, shots could begin in a matter of days.
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - D.C. residents 16 and up can now get vaccinated at walk-up sites and pharmacies across the district that are administering the Pfizer vaccine, D.C. Health announced Friday.
Those who are eligible can now get a coronavirus vaccination at the following sites whenever they are open.
