Its so fitting because itself is a president ial site which is dedicated as a living memorial to president john f. Kennedy, and to assure the authentic nature of this historical gathering, the Kennedy Center brought it back to the 1800s in terms of the temperature in washington, d. C. I am senior director of programs in new orleans. Im joined today by two gentlemen. The first is paul sparrow, who is director of the Franklin D Roosevelt president ial museum and library in hyde park, new york, following a career as a documentary filmmaker and a Senior Executive at the museum. Paul has been directing the roosevelt Library Museum since 2015. He will be talking obviously about fdr and the Manhattan Project. Our second guest is Clifton Truman daniel who is the eldest grandson of president harry truman. He is also a truman scholar. Mr. Sparrow hello, good afternoon, everyone. Welcome to the wallace center, here at the Franklin Roosevelt president ial library and museum, and happy birthday, Eleanor Roosevelt. [applause] it is one of the things we are so lucky to have eleanors papers here along with papers of Franklin Roosevelt and his administration. If you go over and look at the building, the two wings of the library are actually the Eleanor Roosevelt wings that were built in 1972. Even after the Library First opened, fdr started sketching what ended up being the structure here to incorporate eleanors papers. He was telling her, we need to have your papers at the library.
