Friends, family and some state lawmakers say Ronald Davis 80 year prison sentence for a string of armed robberies when he was a high school senior was too excessive. “I deserve a punishment. Robbery is a serious crime deserving a serious punishment, but to have my whole life taken away from me as an 18-year-old child [is excessive],” said inmate Ronald Davis, who has served 23 years in prison to date for the 1997 robberies. “I don`t deserve this.”
