Scott Ostler: Yes, the 49ers played in the Super Bowl just a year ago. What we’ve learned since [San Francisco Chronicle]
Feb. 7 One year ago at the Super Bowl, my biggest challenge was finding the media entrance to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, which is harder to get into than a PBS documentary on mimes.
Chronicle sidekick Ron Kroichick and I slogged around and around the Stadium in the 137% humidity, looking for the secret entrance. Considering how the day turned out for the team we had come to cover, we should have given up and gone back to the hotel and sat by the pool, keeping a sharp eye out for iguanas and Burmese pythons.

Najee Harris, As Everyone Is, Thrilled to See A Ron
Alabama running back Najee Harris
Before he was punishing defenses at Alabama, Najee Harris was slicing up defenses as a five-star running back in Antioch, Calif. There he was covered by Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle.
The two were reunited today in a teleconference previewing next week’s national title game. Kroichick popped in to ask a question and his voice was recognized by Harris, who wondered why the journalist came in as if the two didn’t go way back.
