Newport Daily News PORTSMOUTH – National Grid will be required to file an application for the siting of a major energy facility if it wants to keep its Liquefied Natural Gas vaporization facility on Old Mill Lane, according a decision by the state Energy Facility Siting Board on Friday. The company argued before the board that the facility is temporary, portable and only in operation four months a year, December through March, and thus not under the jurisdiction of the siting board. Oral arguments were heard Dec. 10. Ron Gerwatowski, chairman of the Energy Facility Siting Board, opened Friday’s meeting saying that he was not convinced that Old Mill Lane was temporary.
