LINGAYEN, Pangasinan - Authorities have found the body of a 59-year-old fisherman in a river at Barangay Poblacion in this town and retrieved the cadavers of the four victims of a landslide triggered by the heavy rains caused by Severe Tropical Storm Maring. In an interview on Wednesday, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office information officer Maj. Arturo Melchor Jr. identified the fisherman as Romulo Santos while the victims of the landslide were Jomar Aquino, 26; Jasmine Stocapio, 22; Mary Jane Aquino, 3; and John Christian Salvatiera, 7; all of Barangay Artacho in Sison town. "Based on initial investigation, Santos, on the night of October 12, left their house and went to the nearby Basing River to set up a fish trap to catch fish. However, at midnight on October 13, his brother Danilo did not see Romulo except for the latter's slipper and the small boat near the fish trap," he said.
