The Stories Behind the Stars for Fallen WWII Soldiers event will take place at 6 p.m. at the library on North Washington Streets. Attendees will hear about the program Stories Behind the Stars, an effort to memorialize and post online the service members who gave their lives in WWII. Program Director James Greenberg will discuss the program overall and its current efforts to document the fallen from Rome.
Patrick Reynolds, director of public programs at the Oneida County History Center, will hold the presentation on the plan for Steuben s estate as drawn by a French architect in 1794. The drawing, owned by the History Center, is a rare example of landscape planning in early American history, officials said. The seminar will discuss how the drawing originated and the hard work that went into the plans, including connections to Rome, Whitesboro, Fort Schuyler, Remsen and Boonville.
